Richard Ridley, VP Operations & Project Execution

Mr. Ridley joined Standard Alcohol in 2015 and is responsible for managing the Engineering, Construction, and Operations of all Standard Alcohol’s plants.


Prior to Standard Alcohol, Mr. Ridley served as Director of Operations Sustainability and Mechanical Equipment at Sundrop Fuels, a Biomass Gasification Co. At Sundrop, he was responsible for coordination of all activities between the engineering contractors and the operations group, in the development of a biomass to gasoline process, as well as overseeing the selection of all mechanical equipment.

  
Mr. Ridley has over 38 years’ experience in developing, maintaining, and operating energy projects, that started with Unocal developing the longest operating oil shale project in the US located on the western slope of Colorado, as well as development and operation of Methanol, Fischer-Tropsch, and Biomass Gasification, projects, including the production of alcohols from biomass. His experiences cover a wide variety of disciplines:  Project Management, Engineering, Maintenance, Construction, and Plant Operations.


He received his education in Mechanical Engineering from Kennedy Western University, and is co-inventor on two gasification patents.
