Standard Alcohol Company’s Envirolene^® (E3) fuel is a specially formulated higher mixed alcohol fuel offering excellent power and performance, while minimizing impact on the environment. As a green fuel, mixed alcohol is biodegradable in air, water and land because it chemically breaks down and is digested by living organisms, such as natural bacteria or microbes.

This mixed alcohol fuel can be synthesized from onshore or offshore natural gas feedstocks, gasified coal, society’s garbage & sewer sludge, as well as agricultural waste. The production process is similar to other gas-to-liquids (GTL) technology and waste gasification projects in operation today. The primary differences include the types of fuels produced, the markets for these fuels and their profitability.

Uses include:

• Oxygenate replacement for MTBE in gasoline

• Sulfur-free additive to diesel

• Lead replacement in aviation gasoline

• Pollution reducing fuel de-icer for jet turbines

• Substitute fuel option in Flex-fuel (FFV) equipped vehicles (gasoline or alcohol)

• Coal cleaning and pipeline slurry agent for power plants
